Glacia
If you are ever lucky enough to go and visit a glacia such as I have, you are profoundly moved by not only the sheer scale but the rich hues of blue depth that seen to penetrate the stark white surface.
The colours play tricks on your eyes and this is what I have tried to capture in this piece. I took this piece up to over 950 degrees centigrade and poured hues of indigo and turquoise over the body of icy white whilst quickly scattering shards of thing eggshell blown glass on to the surface. The effect has great visual depth.
